I’m new to the author world, officially that is.
As a young girl I spent hours in my room writing poems, short stories and plays. They made their way to others as gifts or just piled up on the nightstand. I continued reading over the years but writing became something I no longer had time for. Raising children and working a “normal” job (what does that mean anyway?) meant that dreams of the past remained there.
Life can be hard. I’ve dealt with abuse, loss, anger, depression and other obstacles along the way. On the outside I was smiling but inside I felt unimportant and unwanted. A couple of years ago I began to hear a voice telling me to set aside that brave face of mine and tell my story.
In January 2022 Lessons From a Quilt was published. It has been unexpected and humbling to hear the stories of those that were touched by my simple book. Revived with new purpose, I now work to use words to lift others up and help them overcome.
I’m not always serious though! I have the most fun with my favorite travel buddy Alan (my husband). Each time we check one place off our bucket list we add two more! Baking brings me joy although macarons are proving difficult to master. I am blessed with a wonderful blended family of four children and four grandchildren. Visiting the beach to ride the waves or enjoy the latest great read is the best way to relax and I make time for it as often as possible!
